Do I have to pay for publications?

No.  We would never ask you to pay for the privilege of publishing your work.  As a rule, you should be wary of any company who requires you to pay for the publication of your manuscript or requires you to purchase an expensive copy of a publication in order to reserve a spot in it.

We pay for the cost of publication up front and dont make any money until your book starts selling.

How do royalties work?

We are unique in the way we handle royalties here at A.B.Baird Publishing.

The short answer is- we work with you in a profit share method, no advances are given and in exchange the authors are awarded a larger percent of the total profit over the lifetime of the book.

Because we believe that authors should profit from their own work, we offer percentages far higher than industry standard.

Do I still own my words?

You retain the copyrights for your words, while we own the book ISBN and the product as a whole.

Where are the books printed?

In an effort to keep costs down and allow us to continue to pay high dividends to our authors we rely on print on demand methods of publication.

Typically this means that we work with Amazons KDP platform, but there are other options out there as well.

Will my books be in real stores?

It absolutly can be! The books that we publish are avalible to retail stores just like the books from the big 4 publishers. So what determines whether they pick it up to place in their brick and mortor stores? Your tenacity for promoting your product, mostly!

Do I need to have a cover already?

Nope! In fact, it tends to complicate things if you have a cover already! So if you dont have one, awesome! We will work with you to come up with the perfect one! If you do have one, be ready to be flexible as we have specific guidelines that must be met!
